About Kristen

Kristen is Vice President, Nonprofit Advisory Practice, and a member of Corbin’s Community Impact Group.  In these roles, Kristen is responsible for leveraging the firm’s proprietary research and analytics, best-practice mindset, execution excellence and proven model to advise nonprofit organizations on strategic communications, with the goal to help them increase key stakeholder engagement, fundraising, overall effectiveness and community impact.

Prior to joining Corbin, Kristen served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing, Communications and Strategy at Lincoln Financial Group, where she was responsible for overseeing the company’s brand marketing, advertising and sponsorships, public website, internal and external communications, strategic planning and execution, innovation and consumer market research.  Before joining Lincoln, Kristen served as President and CEO of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, where she provided day-to-day leadership and management of the orchestra’s administrative operations, including marketing, finance, operations, development, education and human resources.  In partnership with the board and musicians, she oversaw a successful transition to current Music Director Carolyn Kuan.  Prior to her symphony role, she held a variety of roles in the financial services and management consulting industries.

Kristen is active in the community, serving as secretary of the board for TheaterWorks Hartford, co-chair of the communications committee for The Town & County Club, member of the Hartford Chorale, and leader of her church’s annual giving and legacy giving campaigns.  While living in Philadelphia, she served as audit committee chair of the Philadelphia Orchestra’s board and was also a board member of both Arden Theatre Company and City Kitties cat rescue.

Kristen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Texas A&M University, where she graduated magna cum laude, and a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.  She also attended Harvard Business School’s “Finance for Senior Executives” executive education program.  She lives in West Hartford, CT with her husband Matt, two Bichons and six cats known as “the cat pack.”  In her spare time, Kristen enjoys playing the piano, singing with the Hartford Chorale, and enjoying the many arts and culture assets that the Hartford region has to offer.
