Corbin Advisors Adds Top Talent to Lead Healthcare Vertical

FARMINGTON, CT – February 29, 2024 – Corbin Advisors, a strategic consultancy accelerating value realization globally, today announced that Michael Newshel has been appointed as Vice President, Investor Relations (IR) Advisory and Head of Healthcare Vertical, bringing nearly two decades of sector experience as an equity research analyst at top-ranked Wall Street firms, including Evercore ISI, J.P. Morgan, and Leerink Partners.

Leveraging his experience on the sell side covering the healthcare sector and advising public companies, Mr. Newshel will oversee Corbin’s Healthcare vertical, building on the firm’s long-standing client relationships across the sector, including biotech, specialty and generic pharma, diagnostics, med tech, healthcare services, and IT.

Mr. Newshel adds diverse sector coverage experience to Corbin’s talent mix, including across managed care and hospitals, labs, pharmacies, PBMs, healthcare IT, distributors and supply chain, and other healthcare providers. In addition, he brings deep expertise on the U.S. healthcare system, specifically policy and regulation. His most recent role was as Managing Director, Equity Research – Healthcare Services at Evercore ISI. Previously, he was VP, Healthcare Technology & Distribution at J.P. Morgan. Early in his career he was an equity research analyst at healthcare-dedicated investment bank Leerink Partners.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Newshel is an active volunteer in his community, volunteering with several organizations, including as the treasurer and executive board member The Community Synagogue (TCS) in Westport CT and fundraising for the Lustgarten Foundation to drive research for pancreatic cancer. In his free time, Mr. Newshel enjoys coaching youth soccer and basketball.
